                               Uncle Bill's story:

At the beginning of WWII, Uncle Bill wanted to enlist in the Army. He was classified 4F due to his age and family size. He tried several times to enlist, and each time he was told the same...4F.

One day Uncle Bill saw a notice for cooks at an Army base. He signed up and was finally able to serve his beloved country in the only way he could...to become a cook. He was the best cook at his base, and was presented a special apron. He kept the apron over the years, and on his 85th birthday, knowing how much I loved to cook, gave me his special apron.
